April 2025 Employee of the Month - Seth Echevarria

Please join us in congratulating Seth Echevarria as our Campus Recreation Employee of the Month for April 2025! Seth has an ability to uplift those around him through his positive demeanor and enthusiasm. He has supported the Member Services team tremendously throughout spring break and beyond by picking up multiple shifts for his colleagues.
Since starting in July of 2024, he has grown tremendously in his role as a Member Services attendant by consistently going above and beyond to learn more, studying our policies and procedures, and providing the best service possible to our patrons. His way of embracing new challenges with dedication and commitment to professional growth truly sets him apart. Whether working with colleagues or interacting with customers, his energy creates a welcoming and motivating atmosphere that boosts the morale of the Fitness Center.
Seth expects to graduate in May of 2027 with a major in geography and a minor in meteorology and climatology and wants to work in climatology or meteorology, which he has had an interest in since he was a kid. Seth is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, the GTU Honor Society, and the Geography Club. He is also the secretary of the Weather Club.
In Seth’s free time he likes to play guitar and video games, do weightlifting, and riding bikes with family. When asked why he likes working at Campus Rec, Seth said, “I enjoy being able to help people at the SFC, while being a part of the SIUE community. Working here has helped me grow as a person, and I have been lucky enough to make friendships along the way." We are very lucky to have Seth as a colleague!
