February 2025 Employee of the Month - Monika Dallakoti
Monika Dallakoti has been an excellent employee for SIUE Campus Recreation since she started in the fall of 2024 as a Membership Services attendant. She is working toward a master’s degree in environmental sciences and is also an international student. Monika aspires to work as an environmental consultant specializing in environmental management and community development.
If you ever seen Monika working a shift at SIUE Campus Recreation, you will see her excellent work ethic and her attention to detail to ensure that the needs of the students and member are met at the reception desk, equipment issue and on the fitness floor. Apart form working at the Student Fitness Center, Monika enjoys cooking momo (chicken dumplings), going cycling, and singing Bollywood songs with friends!
The things that Monika enjoys about working at SIUE Campus Recreation is engaging with our diverse student population, getting a great experience in clerical and administrative work, and being surrounded by supportive co-workers. Her can-do attitude and openness to be helpful to others is what makes her an incredibly member of our team.
Monika does not hesitate to jump in to fill in needs when they arise and doing tasks that might be new and challenging. She has received praise from many of the professional staff members for her hard work, especially with helping us keeping the Student Fitness Center going during winter break by cross-training as a fitness attendant. Monika is an excellent employee with a great attitude and exemplifies every day why she deserves to be the Employee of the Month!

January 2025 Employee of the Month - Katelyn Gutmann
Katelyn Gutmann has been an excellent employee for SIUE Campus Recreation since she started in the fall of 2023 as a student custodian. She is working toward a bachelor's degree in nursing and is also a part of the Student Nurse Association Club. Katelyn aspires to be a certified registered nurse anesthetist in the future.
If you ever seen Katelyn working a shift at SIUE Campus Recreation, you will see her excellent work ethic and her attention to detail to ensure that the Student Fitness Center is in top shape for our patrons to enjoy and utilize the facilities with no issues. Not only that but you will see her bringing a friendly smile and creating a warm and welcoming environment to other staff and patrons alike. Some can say that Katelyn has this sense of ownership due to her hobbies which includes working out at the Student Fitness Center, being with friends, and making new ones.
The things that Katelyn enjoys about working at SIUE Campus Recreation are making meaningful connections and our positive work environment. Katelyn helps us achieve this with her can-do attitude and her openness to be helpful to others and spread positivity.
Katelyn is a great team player and does not hesitate to jump in to fill in needs for big events and doing tasks that might need a little more elbow grease. She has received praised from many of the professional staff members for her hard work especially with helping us getting prepared for commencement ensuring that the graduates and their families were sent off in a facility that looks its best. Katelyn is a great employee with a good heart for others and exemplifies everyday why she deserves to be the employee of the month!
