Mental Health First Aid Training
SIUE is pleased to offer Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training courses for members of the SIUE community thanks to generous funding from the Illinois Board of Higher Education. MHFA is a skills-based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance abuse challenges. The training is one day, from 9am-4pm. There is a one-hour lunch break. View session dates and sign-up for a session now. Space is limited to 30 participants per session.
Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention Training
Thanks to generous funding from the Illinois Board of Higher Education, approximately 1,200 QPR Suicide Prevention Trainings are available for SIUE students, faculty, and staff. The QPR Gatekeeper training, a self-paced online training that takes about 1 hour to complete, is offered at no charge.

Be There Certificate
Through SIUE's partnership with TimelyCare, students, faculty, and staff are able to earn the Be There Certificate. Participants can learn to support someone struggling with their mental health through this online course created by Jack.org in partnership with the Born This Way Foundation. Visit betherecertificate.org and click on the "Take the Course" button at the top right corner of the page. At the login page, click on "Create an Account." You will need to use your siue.edu email address to be verified to access the training.
