Each semester, International Affairs produces a newsletter where the campus community can find updates and reminders about international student academic advisement, learn something new about the international student experience, meet a visiting scholar at SIUE, and read about partnership updates and other International Affairs news. International Hospitality Program (IHP)
The IHP is a friendship program composed of community and campus families who wish to enrich the lives of their families and the international students at SIUE. The IHP promotes mutually rewarding relationships between American families and international students at SIUE. International students do not live with their host families.

Academic
- Learning Support Services - Assists students through the Tutoring Resource Center, Writing Center, Supplemental Instruction and other resources. Contact: [email protected]
- Academic Advising - Oversees the academic advising and registration for incoming freshmen students. Contact: [email protected]
- IEP Workshops - Supports international students who still need to meet English language proficiency requirements. Contact: [email protected]
- ACCESS - Provides curricular and co-curricular accommodations for learners with major life impairments. Contact: [email protected]
Employment
- ISSS - Assists international students with obtaining a social security number, authorizes CPT and OPT employment, and helps students remain in good standing for immigration purposes. Contact: [email protected]
- Career Development Center - Offers different professional resources for all students, and helps international students through the CPT application process. Contact: [email protected]
- Student Employment - Links students with part-time employment opportunities on campus and oversees payroll for student employees. Contact: [email protected]
- Graduate School - Maintains administrative processes that support graduate students as well as graduate assistant employment. Contact: [email protected]
Student Support
- Health Services - Provides health, laboratory and pharmacy services to all students. Contact: [email protected]
- Counseling Services - Aids students in the maintenance of their mental health through short-term counseling assistance. Contact: [email protected]
- Cougar Cupboard - Offers free food and toiletry essential items to help fight food insecurity through monthly appointments. Contact: [email protected]

- International Student Council - Serves as a resource for international students to socialize with other international students and to establish new friendships. Contact: [email protected]
- Global Ambassador Program - Aims to facilitate a smooth transition to life in the US for international students through a 'buddy' system. Contact: [email protected]
- TANDEM - Facilitates language learning between American and international students. Contact: [email protected]
