Serving the Community
The Speech-Language-Hearing Center provides unique services for children and adults with and without special needs through its community clinics. We look forward to serving you!
In conjunction with the academic training program, the speech-language pathology graduate program operates a Speech-Language-Hearing Center. The Center provides diagnostic and treatment services each semester for individuals age 2-elderly who present with a variety of communication needs including speech, language, hearing loss, cognition, fluency and voice.
Sessions are conducted by graduate students and are directly supervised by a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist. Graduate-student clinicians receive direct instruction and feedback for each session. All therapy is based on the client’s needs after an evaluation has been performed. The clinic serves many adults and children with various speech, language and hearing difficulties.
The Center also serves members of the community who are non-native speakers of English and would like to improve their American English pronunciation. Accent modification sessions are individualized and focus on improving the intelligibility and naturalness of clients’ spoken English.
