MS Excel Resources

“The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.”

Bill Gates

Welcome to the SIUE School of Business MS Excel Resources

Perhaps you haven’t used Microsoft (MS) Excel is a while and need to brush-up on the basics, or maybe you are enrolled in a course that uses MS Excel in more advanced ways than you are comfortable attempting on your own. Whatever your reason for exploring these resources, Welcome!

The navigation buttons along the left side of the screen follow the decision support system assignments in CMIS 342 Information Systems for Business. Each of the five (5) options includes links for all the files you need to work through business scenarios using MS Excel as a decision support system.

If you have questions or comments about the material provided on this MS Excel Resources website, contact your CMIS 342 instructor or Dr. Tim Jacks at [email protected].

Disclaimer: Instructions for each exercise are written in MS Office 2016 on a PC. All videos demonstrate completing exercises using Windows 10 and MS Office 2016. If you are using a Mac computer, a Mac version of MS Office, an older PC operating system, or a different version of MS Office, you may notice differences. Remember, Google can be your best friend when it comes to technology questions!
