The 2025-2026 Resident Assistant application opens Monday, October 28.
Applications are located in the Housing Portal under Employment Application.
RA Qualifications
- Turn in a completed application by the appropriate deadline: Friday, December 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.
- Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA by the time you assume the position (RAs are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA).
- Cannot be graduating before May 2025.
- Cannot be involved with a full-time internship/co-op, student teaching, or enrolled in the School of Pharmacy program during the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Have lived in University Housing for at least one full semester by the time you would begin as an RA (summer is counted as a semester). Priority will be given to candidates who have lived in University Housing for at least two full semesters before the start date
- Be in good financial, academic, and behavioral conduct standing with the University.
RA Application Process
- Online Application deadline:
- Friday, December 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.
- RA Candidate Workshops: January 20 – February 7
- Candidates will be expected to attend a workshop each week for three weeks.
- The workshops will allow Housing staff to see candidates in scenarios they may encounter in the RA role.
- RA Candidate Individual Interview: February 10 - 14
- Candidates will participate in an interview with a few Housing staff to answer questions about the RA role.

Virtual Q&A Sessions (not required to be considered for position):
- Wednesday, October 30, 2024 @ 3:30 p.m.: Join Zoom
- Friday, November 15, 2024 @ 12:00 p.m.: Join Zoom
In-Person Q&A Sessions (not required to be considered for position):
- One session for each Community during the week of November 4-8. Watch for publicity in your community if interested in this session.
2025 – 2026 RA Important Dates
- Attend a 2-hour Orientation Meeting on April 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Attend Fall RA Training 2 weeks before the start of the Fall semester
- Attend a 2-hour RA leadership course on Thursday or Friday afternoons, non-credit, no cost
- Attend January RA Training 1 – 2 weeks before the start of the Spring semester
