The SIUE Office of the Provost and the Emeriti Faculty Association present the
"One More Thought..." Lecture Series
The Office of the Provost and the Emeriti Faculty Association invite SIUE students, faculty and staff to nominate a faculty member to present his or her thoughts, advice and insights about academic life during the inaugural “One More Thought…” Lecture this fall.
All SIUE emeriti faculty, in addition to all current faculty members who have been in the professorial rank for at least five years, are eligible to be nominated. Nominations will be accepted through March 1.
Following the March 1 deadline, nominees will be contacted by the Review Committee to submit a complete application, which requires a copy of the faculty member’s curriculum vitae and an abstract of no more than 200 words describing the topic of the proposed talk using the general theme: “If this were to be my last opportunity to address the SIUE academic community, what would I want to say to the faculty, staff, students and alumni?”
The 2020 presenter will be selected by April 30. Selection will be based on the nominee’s commitment to the SIUE academic community, academic achievement and proposed topic of the “One More Thought….” Lecture.
The selected faculty member will receive a $1,500 honorarium and will present the lecture during the fall 2020 semester.
Submit your nomination by emailing [email protected] by March 1. Download the flier.
