Jennifer Shenberger
(618) 650-3900[email protected]Jennifer Shenberger is currently serving as the University Concert Band Conductor at SIUE. She holds a BME with Instrumental/Vocal Certification from Southwest Baptist University, a MM Degree in Instrumental Conducting from Missouri State University, and has earned over thirty additional post-masters hours in conducting and music education from the University of Central Missouri and Vandercook College of Music.
Having recently retired after 31 years of teaching in the Missouri Public School System, Professor Shenberger served as the High School Band and Choral Director for the Reeds Spring School District from 1993-2002, and then as Director of Bands until 2007. From 2007-2024, Ms. Shenberger served in the position of Brass Specialist/Band Director for the Clayton School District in St. Louis, where she managed the Brass Curriculum for grades 6-12, served as the CHS Pit Orchestra, CHS Brass Choir, and CHS Jazz Band conductor, Beginning Band lead teacher, and Wydown Wind Ensemble co-conductor. Under her direction, the CHS Brass Choir received consistent Superior Ratings at the MSHSAA Large Ensemble Festival and the Wydown Wind Ensemble was selected to perform for the 2017 Missouri Music Educators Association Conference.
Ms. Shenberger is an active adjudicator, clinician, presenter, and honor band conductor, and has served for 12 seasons as the co-conductor for the Alton Municipal Band in Alton, IL. In 2024, she was a guest conductor for the Saint Louis Wind Symphony’s 25th season.
Professional memberships and affiliations include MBA, NAFME, Phi Beta Mu, Pi Kappa Lambda, Alpha Chi, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, and Who’s Who Among Professional Women. Combining her love for music, travel, students, and children, Professor Shenberger devotes a portion of her time to serving as a tour director for Music Travel Consultants, and is currently in training to become a wish granter for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
