Barbara Lee Hunter
Office: Dunahm Hall 0104(A) (618)650-2994 [email protected]Barbara Lee Hunter is the Musical Instrument Repair Technician at SIUE. Her responsibilities include repair and maintenance of the Music Department’s inventory of more than 500 brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments as well as the instruments of students and faculty. In addition, she teaches Music 111 and applied French horn. Ms. Hunter holds an M.M. in French Horn Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she was a student of Michael Hatfield.
She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in French Horn Performance from Butler University, graduating cum laude, and a diploma in Band Instrument Repair from Western Iowa Technical College. She has participated in the Aspen Music Festival for five seasons. Before Ms. Hunter’s appointment at SIUE, she worked as a repair technician in a private shop in St. Louis. She has served on the faculties of MacMurray and Illinois Colleges in Jacksonville, Ill., and maintains a large private studio.
